Live Action Astro-Boy Movie

Astro Boy was created as a manga in 1952 by Osamu Tezuka. It followed the story of a cyborg child that was designed by a scientist to take on the form of his son that died. Astro Boy goes on to use his powers to fight crime. Over the decades the story has been into cartoons and movies, including an animated movie in 2009. Now  Animal Logic Entertainment is making plans to make a live-action version of the film.

City Shrouded in Shadow

Most video games puts the player in the shoes of an extraordinary hero up against impossible odds. But have you ever thought about what a game would look like through the eyes of an NPC? Bandai’s latest project puts the player in the shoes of an ordinary civilian that must find a way to save himself while a giant monster is attacking his city. Bandai has not yet announced a western release. 

Xbox Live Back On Track

Xbox users were sending in their complaints on Tuesday due to their inability to sign into Xbox Live. However according to Microsoft all issues are resolved and players can get back online. Xbox support tweeted quote:

“The previous issues with sign-in should now be resolved! If you're still having any trouble, we're here to help out.”

Conan Exiles

Last month Funcom announced one of their projects that will be coming this summer. Conan Exiles is a game that puts the player in the shoes of a fugitive who was to be crucified in a desert wasteland. However the player is confronted by Conan The Barbarian who frees the player, hands them an ax, and sends them off to fend for themselves. Within the early parts of the game the player will be forced to hunt for themselves, build shelter, and scavenge for resources. The overall goal in the game is for to the player build themselves a society, and ultimately a kingdom.

Audio Push Upcoming Album

The HS87 rap group, Audio Push gave Hip Hop DX an insight into the inspiration for their upcoming album Stone Junction. Apparently the Cali artists were inspired from their stay in Stone Mountain Georgia. Price told Hip Hop DX quote:

"We're obviously from the IE [Inland Empire] so to switch it up from what we're used to which is Cali, the IE, the West Coast and go to Atlanta and catch a whole new vibe, our synergy levels were like crazy."

From what they said, it sounds like they plan to take their usual west coast sound that were used to hearing from them, and possibly put a Southside twist to it. Their latest album Inside The Vibe was released Febuary 2, and you can check it out today on Sound Cloud.

Kendrick Lamar Grammy Nomination

Kendrick Lamar made Hip hop history earlier this week after becoming the first rapper to be nominated for eleven Grammy awards in one night, surpassing Eminem. His nominations include Album Of The Year, and Song Of The Year.

Jay Rock Injured

Unfortunately Jay Rock, one of my favorite Top Dog Entertainment artists, was seriously injured in a terrible motorcycle accident on Monday. Apparently he has quite a few broken bones, but fortunately he isn’t an any type of coma and will hopefully recover over time.

Naughty By Nature Lauches Kickstarter For 25th Anniversary Album

Legendary rap group Naughty By Nature is approaching their 25 year anniversary and to celebrate, the group has started a kick starter project to fund the production of their 25^th anniversary album. In a joint statement the group said quote:

“What this campaign is about is just the celebration of our 25 years in the music industry. We’re inviting you to celebrate with us, Kickstarter is the sign of the times...We felt like this would be the perfect time to [release] new music but we needed the support from the fans. We wanted to see if they really wanted the new album. Now that we’re veterans, we can go directly to the fans."

Chief Keef Tells His Twitter Followers To Vandalize A Home

Chicago rapper Chief Keef was in the hot seat earlier this week after telling his 1.1 million twitter followers to vandalize a house in Minneapolis. He said quote:

“Throw eggs and shit in a bag and rocks and all that at this address Ima repost it,"

The tweet has been quickly deleted,  however fans have actually gone to the house in large groups posting pictures of themselves on social media networks. The people who live at the residence have been there for over a year and claim that they have no connection to Chief Keef. One of the Occupants have tried to contact Chief Keef and let him know that he has targeted the wrong people, but this has failed.

One of the residences, Ashley, told Minneapolis’ Eyewitness 5 News quote:

"I'm fearing for my safety, I have two other roommates that aren't able to come home tonight because of this, and it's not going to end tonight. Social media goes on forever. You could re-tweet this in four months and throw eggs at my house."

Minneapolis Police officers have stood guard at the residence for hours and urged the occupants to stay somewhere else.

Ashley had a message for Chief Keef:

"You have a lot of say in what goes on in the world, being so famous, that this is just kind of sickening in what you do with your time, and if you're going to put a hit on a house, you make sure that they live there,"

Batman Arkham Knight Canceled For Mac And Linux

Warner Bros has canceled the highly anticipated Batman Arkham Knight game for Mac, and Linux platforms. Apparently, the reason behind the cancellation is that the game encountered a series of problems with its PC launch, which ultimately led to it being restricted from sale in certain regions.  For those who already have the game pre-ordered, a refund is available through the Steam website.

 

Twin Star Exorcist New Anime Coming

The new anime series Twin Star Exorcist is set to debut in April. The anime will be based on the manga series by Yoshiaki Sukeno that follows the story of a boy named Rokuro whose ambition in life is to become anything but an exorcist. However, when a mysterious girl by the name of Benio shows up, the two are given the title “ The Twin Star Exorcists” and learn that they are destined to marry.  

Anime Harry Potter Products

Harry Potter is officially going anime, with a line of exclusive merchandise. This includes folders, keychains, buttons, stamps, and an all new line of Harry Potter trading cards.

Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Underway

On Tuesday manga creator Akira Himekawa, stated that his new series  The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will undergo Serialization beginning Monday. This comes as a pleasant surprise since it has been nearly eight years since their last Legend of Zelda manga.

Production Of Avatar 2 Begins In April

Starting this April the shooting for Avatar 2 will take place in New Zealand where the original movie was shot. Apparently the film is set to be a part of a trilogy which will all be filmed simultaneously. Will this may be a bit of a setback from the original start date, fans can rest easy knowing that we can expect great things from James Cameron. As the rumors go, this film will explore the world of Pandora and the Na’vi people in further depth. The film will possibly give the audience an inside look into the roots of this wonderful world. But that’s just speculation of course. The film is expected to hit theaters in 2017.
